MCX has new office building with aluminium profiles as a sustainable solution
Apeldoorn-based IT company MCX has very sustainable ambitions. The organisation has been operating in a CO2-neutral way for ten years and is also actively electrifying its vehicle fleet. It was therefore obvious that the new accommodation of owner Johan van Veen had to be both sustainable and reflect sustainability. The team of Van der Linde Architecten was responsible for translating these sustainability ambitions.
The greenest building in Apeldoorn
Van der Linde Architecten designed a spectacular and sustainable office building that was awarded a BREEAM Excellent score. This means that, with its green facades, solar panels, natural materials, sustainable installation technology and aluminium window frames and doors, the office building meets the strictest sustainability requirements.
Due to the energy required to make aluminium from bauxite, the combination of sustainability and aluminium may not seem like the ideal solution at first glance, but the advantages - including very good insulation and the infinite possibility of reuse without loss of quality - far outweigh this. Additionally, it allows for very slim construction.
Aliplast as aluminium partner
To realise this project, Van der Linde Architecten chose to collaborate with Reuskens. They immediately indicated to use Aliplast aluminium profiles. Aliplast guarantees both the quality of its products and the stability of its services. Aliplast offers extensive possibilities in production, from extrusion to powder coating, assuring clients of timely deliveries and continuity. As a result, they provide the look and feel you envisage as an architect.
Aesthetically pleasing finish
The depth in the window frames and doors so desired by the architects was no problem for the Aliplast team. Thanks to the recessed fins, the green facades were beautifully accentuated. Exactly as the architects had imagined. That combination creates a stunning aesthetic effect. To achieve this desired effect, the MC Wall was chosen as the curtain wall, and for the windows and doors, the choice fell on the Star75.
Aliplast products used
MC Wall is available in 5 versions: MC Wall in 3 insulation levels, MC Glass where no aluminum profiles are visible from the outside, and a fire-resistant MC Fire.
The Star75 fits this perfectly. This is a sleek frame with high-performance insulation. There are four insulation levels available, providing an insulation solution for every structure.
